Itinerary
Day 1 Los Mochis/El Fuerte
Arrive Los Mochis Airport & transfer to your hotel in the colonial town of El Fuerte.
Day 2 El Fuerte
Morning guided kayak tour down El Fuerte River with a hike to petroglyphs at the end.
Day 3 El Fuerte/Cerocahui
Transfer to the train station for the famous Chepe Train ride to Bahuichivo. This afternoon enjoy a guided tour to Cerro Gallegos Lookout to see the majestic Urique Canyon and afterwards visit Cerocahui Mission. Evening at leisure. (BLD)
Day 4 Cerocahui/Posada Barrancas
Morning at leisure for optional activities. Afternoon Chepe Train to Posada Barrancas where you are met for a scenic drive your hotel. (BD)
Day 5 Posada Barrancas/Creel
Morning tour of the Divisadero area visiting the seldom seen Oteros Canyon lookout and an opportunity to ride the cable car (not included). Transfer to Creel in the afternoon with rest of the day at leisure. (B)
Day 6 Creel
Day at leisure in the alpine village of Creel; optional activities include horse riding, hiking or visits to hot springs. (B)
Day 7 Creel/Batopilas
Full day Copper Canyon tour including Valley of the Mushrooms, Lake Arareko, San Igancio Mission, Cusarare Waterfall, Basihuare Canyon & the famous Copper Canyon. Picnic lunch included on today’s tour. You’ll be dropped at your hotel in Batopilas at the end of the tour. (BL)
Day 8 Batopilas
Full day touring the Batoplias region including the Los Cathedral of Satevo & ruins of Hacienda San Miguel. Option to hike along the old aqueduct for impressive bird life viewing. (B)
Day 9 Batopilas/Cusarare
Transfer to your speciality lodging this morning with the afternoon at leisure to enjoy the scenery and experience Raramuri Indian culture and hospitality. Option to hike to Cusarare Waterfall. (BLD)
Day 10 Cusarare/Chihuahua
After breakfast, transfer to Chihuahua via the famous Mennonite community, with time to visit the museum & cheese making factory. (B)
Day 11 Chihuahua
Morning sightseeing tour of Chihuahua before a transfer to the airport for your onwards flight. (B)
