Travel overland from Mexico’s capital, through the City of Eternal Spring and the Sierra Madre Mountains to arrive at the coastal city of Acapulco. Watch the famous cliff divers plunge from La Quebrada to the churning waters below and soak up some Mexican sunshine.
Itinerary
Day 1 Mexico City
Arrive Mexico City & transfer to your hotel
Day 2 Mexico City
Full day tour of Mexico City’s highlights, including the Zocalo, Cathedral, National Palace & Tenochtitlan. Continue to the Teotihuacan Ruins to see the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Visit the Plaza of Three Cultures and Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe en route and return to your hotel. (B)
Day 3 Mexico City
Day at leisure to relax and explore. We suggest a visit to the township of Coyoacan – known for its colourful & colonial architecture, and the wonderful Frida Kahlo Museum in the house where the artist lived with her husband Diego Rivera. (B)
Day 4 Mexico City/Taxco
Full day tour to Taxco, a quaint colonial cobblestoned town famed for its silverware. En route we visit Cuernavaca, city of the eternal spring, with its imposing Palace of Cortes & Cathedral. Free time for shopping in Taxco, Mexico’s picturesque Silver City, and overnight (B)
Day 5 Taxco/Acapulco
Pick up from your hotel and depart this morning for Acapulco. On arrival, transfer to your accommodation, with the rest of the day free to relax and explore. (B)
Day 6 Acapulco
Enjoy a half day tour of Acapulco’s most important sites, ending with the spectacular Cliff Divers Show! (B)
Day 7 Acapulco
Day at leisure to relax and explore (B)
Day 8 Acapulco
Transfer to the airport for your onwards flight or ask us about extending your stay (B)
