Looking for a once in a lifetime experience overseas? How about Puma spotting in Patagonia? Over the last 2 years, we have been hearing back from different happy travellers about their incredible encounters (don´t worry all of them safe) with these magnificent cats:
“Absolutely fell in love in love with Torres del Paine and the accommodation superb!! One outstanding highlight of one of our tours was to sight 2 grande gatos!!! Yes, Pumas!! One was resting by the lake and the other feasting on a Guanaco. Thanks, Heather, for organising the Pumas!
Volcanoes, flamingos, geysers…. vicuna, viscacha, cactus, condors, whales…………the list goes on, just incredible.”
Pumas are the world´s biggest mountain lion and the largest native mammal in South America, however, these cats are shy and very elusive. From May to August Pumas are seen throughout the region as the parks are uncrowded and their preys, mainly guanacos, concentrate in specific areas of the park because of the Winter.
There are many ways to see the Pumas
We can organise a guided Puma Tracking tour where you will be driving around the National Parks with an expert who will track down the Pumas to make your trip and fun, safe and memorable adventure. The great thing about a guided Puma tracking tour is that the guides not only will show you around the National Parks and possibly spot pumas for you, but they will take care of every detail of your trip, so it will be worry free! Plus, you will learn so much from the experts in the region from the Park flora and fauna to the environment and costumes and traditions.
But as we said, there are many ways that we can arrange a Puma sighting experience on your trip to Patagonia, so talk to our experts and we can tailor exactly what you are after and make it unforgettable!
