Day 1 Santiago de Chile
Pick up from Santiago airport and transfer to your hotel, The Ritz-Carlton. Where you will have access to the Club Lounge including presentations of culinary offerings throughout the day.
Day 2 Santiago de Chile/San Pedro de Atacama
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Calama. On arrival into Calama you will be met by an English speaking representative of Tierra Atacama hotel and transferred to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama where your adventure begins.
Choose from a range of half day and full day excursions that cater for every fitness level and interest. Small groups ensure maximum enjoyment on your excursions! From 4WD adventures to horse-riding, biking and hiking- Tierra Atacama has something for everyone.
– Bike Ride through the Ayllus: an easy ride through oases villages, where local inhabitants live traditional lifestyles.
– Quitor Fortress: a unique cultural excursion visiting the archaeological museum in San Pedro de Atacama and the Fort of Quitor.
Day 3 San Pedro de Atacama
Suggested excursion options include:
– 4WD tour to Moon Valley: an easy three hour tour with spectacular views over Death Valley, Moon Valley and the Andes mountain range.
– 4WD tour to the highland lagoons of Miscanti and Miñiques: enjoy extraordinary mountain scenery and have lunch in the remote Altiplanic community of Socaire.
Day 4 San Pedro de Atacama
A full day to enjoy the range of excursions and activities included in your stay. Suggested excursion options include:
– Tatio Geysers: at over 4,000m, this excursion requires a few days acclimatisation. An early departure will bring you to the geysers in time to see the morning sun streaming through huge steam columns, which reach heights of 12m. Great wildlife viewing opportunities with vicuñas and if you are lucky, foxes, vizcachas and the Andean ostrich.
– Volcano Hiking: starting at an altitude of 4,800m, this climb is only recommended for fit walkers who are well acclimatised. Enjoy spectacular views of the Bolivian Altiplano and the Atacama Salt Flat to the west.
– Puritama Hot Springs: a medium level hike will bring you to these natural pools, where you can bathe and relax in the thermal waters.
Day 5 San Pedro de Atacama/Santa Cruz
After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Santiago and transfer to Lapostolle Residence Wine Lodge in Santa Cruz.
Day 6 Santa Cruz/Torres del Paine
Early after breakfast you will be picked up at the Hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight to Punta Arenas. Pick up from Punta Arenas and transfer to Tierra Patagonia.
Tierra Patagonia’s excursions are led by knowledgeable, skilled and experienced guides. Excursions vary from treks, horseback rides across the Patagonian steppe and exhilarating mountain hikes. These activities enable all guests to see all corners of the National Park as well as areas less travelled. Guests will se world famous locations and to meet locals who live and work in this unique setting.
Day 7 Torres del Paine
Choose from a range of half day and full day excursions that cater for every fitness level and interest. Small groups ensure maximum enjoyment on your excursions! From 4WD adventures to horse-riding and hiking- Tierra Patagonia has something for everyone. Suggested excursion options include:
– Laguna Azul: a scenic journey to enjoy spectacular views of the North, Central and South towers, weather permitting. Enjoy a short walk along the north shore of the lake and in springtime and summer see many birds in the lenga woods.
– Paine Massif: a full day journey exploring the western part of the park. Thi is the best option to see a large part of the park in just one day, with stops at various places for taking great photographs. The journey finishes in the area of Lake Grey, where there are glaciers, ice floes and feathery nothofagus woods.
– Cerro Guido Horseride: an easy two hour ride to a high plain, where we can view the valley of Cerro Guido, Lago del Toro, Lake Sarmiento, the Paine massif and Cerro Cazador.
Day 8 Torres del Paine
Enjoy another full day exploring the dramatic landscape of Patagonia. Suggested excursion options include:
– Salto Grande: a scenic journey to some of the most classic areas of Torres Del Paine National Park. A short walk will bring you to Salto Grande, a magnificent waterfall.
– Pingo Valley and Grey Peninsula: a medium level hike through one of the greenest areas of the park, Pingo Valley, to reach a small waterfall. After lunch we visit Grey Lake where you can see Grey Glacier in the distance.
– Hunters Trail: a 2-3 hour hike to see cave paintings from the Aonikenk, hunter-gatherer native Indians that occupied this area some 6,000 years ago. It is also one of the best areas to see wildlife such as guanacos, foxes and condors.
Day 9 Torres del Paine
Enjoy another full day exploring the dramatic landscape of Patagonia. Suggested excursion options include:
– Condoreras: a medium level hike with with stunning views of the Torres del Paine, Sierra Contreras, Sierra del Toro and also the hotel, from a 360° view point.
– French Valley: a challenging full day hike that will take you up French Valley to the view point below spectacular French Glacier. There are great views of the Cuernos del Paine on the way.
Day 10 Torres del Paine/Chiloe
After breakfast, transfer back to Punta Arenas for your onward flight to Chiloe. Arrival transfer from Castro or Puerto Montt Airport to your accommodation at Tierra Chiloe Hotel & Spa in Mocopulli.
Day trips are designed to allow you to discover the magic, culture and nature of the archipelago through a different angle each day, by alternating a variety of outings such as cultural trips, boating, horseback riding, biking, trekking and nature observation, providing our guests the opportunity to visit the unique sites that along our guests to comprehend and appreciate this wonderful archipelago called Chiloé.
Day 11 Chiloe
Enjoy a full day to explore the magic of Chiloe. Suggested excursion options include:
– Historic Castro: visit the picturesque Mercado Yumbel to see typical regional products, the classic colourful palofitos (houses on stilts) and the UNESCO Heritage listed church of San Francisco
– Chepu: head to the northern part of the island where you will board a small boat for a trip down Chiloe’s largest river. Great opportunities for birdwatching.
Day 12 Chiloe
Another day to explore the fascinating Chiloé. Suggested excursion options include:
– Chiloe National Park – Cole Cole Section: from Huentemo we hike through the countryside, surrounded by native flora such as ferns, Chilean rhubarb, Chilean myrtle and jonquils. Arrive at the white sandy beach of Cole Cole where we’ll have lunch
– Circular Route 2: Chelin – Quehui: board the boat “Williche” and sail towards the southwest to the calm water’s of Pindo Estuary. Here you can kayak, travel the coast in Zodiac or bike nearby trails to cliffs with gorgeous views. Seafood lunch onboard before an afternoon exploration of the pretty town of Chelin.
Day 13 Chiloe
Transfer from Tierra Chiloé to Castro airport or to Puerto Montt airport.
