ITINERARY

Day 1 Punta Arenas/Torres del Paine

Pick up from Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales and transfer into Torres del Paine National Park, and on to Explora Torres del Paine. Every evening the guides meet with you in the bar/living room area of the hotel. They will explain all of the planned explorations available for the next day and help you choose the best Patagonia travel exploration for you according to your interests and abilities. Explorations are safe and are made up of groups with a maximum of 8 people, accompanied by an expert bilingual guide. All their guides speak excellent Spanish and English. Extensive explorations include open-air picnics.

Day 2 Torres del Paine

Explora Torres del Paine offers over 45 different explorations. On foot or horseback or by bicycle, a couple of hours to a full day, gentle or more physically demanding. Suggested excursion options include:
– Mirador Pehoe: an easy half-day walk along Pehoe Lake, observing the local flora. Ascend to the magnificent views over the intense blue waters of Lake Pehoe.
– Nordenskjöld: drive to Pudeto Station and from there we head off on foot to see Paine Grande and its hanging glaciers. Later we arrive at the turquoise waters of Lake Nordenskjöld. Here you can often hear the sound of ice breaking and causing mini-avalanches. Return to the lodge.

Day 3 Torres del Paine

Another day to explore the region with your specialist guide. Suggested excursion options include:
– Lago Grey: Drive to Grey Station and then set off on foot, crossing the hanging bridge over Pingo River and hiking to the shores of Lake Grey. From here you can see the enormous icebergs that break off Grey Glacier. After a short ascent, you’ll have close-up views of Grey Glacier. Return to Grey Station and drive back to the lodge.
– Aonikenk: a moderate half-day hike with great opportunities to see wildlife. Visit a cave with 4,000-year-old rock paintings. Return to the lodge by van.
– Cuernos: drive to Cerro Paine Ranch and begin hiking around the base of Almirante Nieto. Later we hike along the shores of Lake Nordenskjöld before beginning a demanding ascent to the beginning of Bader Valley. You will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Los Cuernos (the horns), Sarmiento and Nordenskjöld Lakes and the Southern Ice Field.

Day 4 Torres del Paine

Another day to explore the region with your specialist guide. Suggested excursion options include:
– Horse Back Ride to Laguna Negra: an easy, short ride across rivers, forests and pampas as we ascend to Laguna Negra. This is a great trip for bird watchers, as we pass many lagoons along the way.
– The base of the Towers: a challenging full-day hike, starting at Cerro Paine Ranch and ascending towards the Ascencio River Valley to the Refugio Chileno. From here it is a steep ascent to the base of Paine Towers. Weather permitting, the views from the top are unbeatable, with the magnitude of the granite Torres overwhelming up close.
