We have created a sample tour to experience the beauty, history and food in Brazil, the Brazil’s Colonial Heritage. We’ve included Tiradentes, Ouro Preto, and Belo Horizonte as these are the main colonial cities in the area. On one hand there is Ouro Preto, a beautiful colonial town in the Serra do Espinhaço mountains of eastern Brazil. It’s known for its baroque architecture and cobblestone streets that meander up and down the steep hillsides. On the other hand, Tiradentes is the perfect combination of nature and culture with scenic hiking trails. ITINERARY

Day 1 Belo Horizonte/Tiradentes

Arrive Belo Horizonte and transfer to Congonhas, once an important mining centre. Visit the stunning baroque Basilica, constructed in the late 1700’s and see the impressive rococo interior. Continue to Tiradentes with lunch en route

Day 2 Tiradentes

Enjoy a walking tour of beautiful Tiradentes, with its cobbled streets, historic houses and the lovely baroque architecture of its numerous churches. Framed by the São Jose Mountain Range, the city is one of
Brazil’s finest colonial beauties. Afternoon at leisure to explore hiking trails in the surrounding hills

Day 3 Tiradentes/Ouro Preto

Transfer to Ouro Preto after breakfast, with a visit to São Joao del Rei en route. Founded in 1698, Ouro Preto is a masterpiece of colonial architecture and a UNESCO Heritage Listed site.

Day 4 Ouro Preto

Enjoy a tour to nearby Mariana, with exemplary colonial architecture. Return to spend the afternoon exploring Ouro Preto, with views of surrounding mountains over red-tiled roofs and baroque church towers

Day 5 Ouro Preto/Belo Horizonte

Transfer back to Belo Horizonte Airport for your onward flight.
