Transfer to the train station for the famous Chepe Train ride to Posada Barrancas.
The Chihuahua-Pacifico railroad, or Chepe, has been around since 1961, was privatised in 1998 and took almost 100 years to complete. Its line includes 37 bridges and 86 tunnels from the start in Los Mochis to the end in Chihuahua, and is an engineering masterpiece that people come from all over the world to ride. The train line runs through Septentrion Canyon, which overall, is a very small portion of the canyons system that covers over 25,000 square miles. Needless to say, one must get off the train line to really immerse oneself into the Copper Canyon, though this train ride is a nice taster of what you will see if you explore deeper into the canyon system.
