ITINERARY

Day 1 San Jose/Manuel Antonio

On arrival, you will be met by one of our local representatives and transferred to you your hotel in Manuel Antonio. It is a very scenic and beautiful drive (2 hours approximately). Get settled into your room end enjoy the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
Go for a nice walk around the property. Arenas Del Mar is the perfect base to explore Costa Rica’s wildlife and natural treasures, as the hotel is nestled in eleven acres of rainforest and is a short trip to Manuel Antonio National Park. The views from the hills overlooking Manuel Antonio are spectacular, the beaches are idyllic, and its jungles are inhabited by howler, white-faced, and squirrel monkeys, two and three-toed sloths, tropical birds, and other forms of exotic wildlife.

Day 2 Manuel Antonio

After a delicious breakfast this morning, enjoy the charms of Manuel Antonio National Park, with its striking white-sand beaches, clear, tranquil waters, and abundant wildlife on this nearby tour. Though the park’s highlights are its two white sand beaches – Espadilla Sur and Manuel Antonio – it also protects a coastal rain forest, a mangrove swamp, coral formations, and 12 islands that serve as seabird sanctuaries.
Your guide will teach you about the park’s distinctive plant life and locate camouflaged fauna, which includes 109 mammal species, such as three species of monkeys, agouti, three-toed sloth, and deer, as well as 200 species of birds, such as toucans, flycatchers, hawks, and hummingbirds.

Tortilla Making
If you are not too tired, take advantage of the opportunity to go on the tortilla-making tour. This walking tour takes you around the hotel property and behind the scenes to Petatillo, home to many staff. The staff cook will show you how tortillas are made old-fashioned. Then you may savour your tortilla with a good cup of coffee or agua dulce (“sweet water”) for an authentic Tico experience.

Day 3 Manuel Antonio

Rainmaker Tropical Rainforest Tour
Depart this morning to the best tropical rainforest immersion experience in the area. This private reserve hosts a wonderful network of trails and hanging bridges amongst a panorama of vibrant greens and gushing streams and waterfalls. Rainmaker is an ideal place to witness tropical flora and fauna preservation at its best and the rich biodiversity that has flourished from these local efforts.

Easy Being Green
Come behind the scenes to learn about history, nature, and green practices in one tour. In the native plant nursery, the sericulture, and the compost area, you will see what happens to organic waste at the hotel. Learn the hotel’s philosophy for reducing waste and saving energy in the recycling center. This unique experience will show you how your stay at Arenas Del Mar, while relaxing and fun, is having a positive impact on our environment.
