Day 1 Pucon
Arrive at Temuco or Puerto Montt Airport, where you’ll be greeted and transferred to &Beyond Vira Vira. Settle into your luxurious suite with a private terrace overlooking the Liacura River.
Enjoy a gourmet farm-to-table dinner featuring organic produce from the lodge’s farm. Unwind in the hot tub or by the fire with a glass of Chilean wine.
Day 2 Pucon
After a sumptuous breakfast, set off on your first excursion with your guide. Suggested excursion options include:
– Sailing Lake Villarrica: an enjoyable and relaxing start to your stay is a half-day sailing trip on the lake. Enjoy stunning views of the beautiful Villarrica Volcano.
– Thermal Baths: located in the heart of the native forest, we find these lovely natural pools, the ideal temperature for a deeply restorative bath.
– Guided Hike to Huerquehue National Park: hike through ancient monkey-puzzle forests, past waterfalls, and to pristine mountain lakes. You will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Andes, diverse flora and fauna, and a close-up encounter with nature.
– Kayaking on Lake Villarrica- Paddle across the tranquil waters of Lake Villarrica, surrounded by the majestic Andes. This peaceful kayaking experience will bring stunning reflections of the volcano in the lake and bird watching opportunities.
Day 3 Pucon
Another full day to enjoy the wide range of excursions offered by Vira Vira. Some suggested excursion options include:
– Chinay Trail Trek: a half-day trek through ancient Coihue, Araucaria, and Lengas forest. At the edge of the woods, you will have a 360-degree view of the Villarrica and Llaima volcanoes to the north and the Quetrupillán, Lanin, and Mocho–Choshuenco volcanoes to the south.
– Challupen Glacier: a medium-level full-day hike that starts along the base of Villarrica Volcano. On the way up, you can see the Calafquén Lake, the araucaria forests, and the impressive Challupén glacier.
– Scenic Helicopter (Additional Cost) Flight over Villarrica Volcano – Soar above the active Villarrica Volcano for unparalleled views of the crater and surrounding lakes. The aerial views of the volcano, lakes, and national parks guarantee a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
During winter, take a Helicopter (Additional Cost) – Assisted Heli-Hiking to a remote location for a guided hike in untouched wilderness areas. It provides exclusive access to remote trails, stunning aerial views, and an unforgettable hiking experience.
– Volcano Climbing – Villarrica Volcano (Additional Cost) For the adventurous, ascend the active Villarrica Volcano with experienced guides. This is a challenging ascent, with views from the summit, and the thrill of standing atop an active volcano.
Day 4 Pucon
Another full day to enjoy the wide range of excursions offered by Vira Vira. Suggested excursion options include:
– Huinfiuca Lagoon: drive to the beautiful Quillelhu Lagoon where we start our trek. Walk through a forest of araucaria trees to reach the ‘Hidden Lagoon’ and then continue to the incredible Huinfiuca Lagoon for stunning views of Lanin Volcano.
– Float or Kayak Liucura River: start from the private beach of the hotel and either float or kayak downstream along the crystalline waters of the Liucura River. There are plenty of opportunities to see a variety of birdlife and endemic vegetation.
– Mapuche Cultural Experience: Visit a local Mapuche community and learn about their ancient traditions, crafts, and way of life. The highlights are a hands-on cultural immersion, storytelling by local Mapuche guides, and traditional crafts.
Day 5 Pucon
Enjoy a final gourmet breakfast and spend the morning at leisure, perhaps squeeze in one last adventure before departure, such as a short hike, horseback ride, or visit the onsite farm. Transfer to Temuco or Puerto Montt Airport for your onward journey.
