ITINERARY

Day 1 San Juan del Sur

On arrival, you will be met by one of our local representatives and transferred to the lodge.
You will have the unique opportunity to reside in true resort style luxury, in addition to the chance to explore the copiousness of “wild Nicaragua.” After you have settled in your bungalow, go for a walk around the Reserve, explore and learn about the native wildlife.

Day 2 San Juan del Sur

After a delicious breakfast, you can have a morning walk around the reserve. You will be able to see animals inhabiting the jungle reserve and estuary around Morgan’s Rock. Get amazing pictures of the howler monkeys, macaws, anteaters, sloths and white tipped dear, to name just a few, and spot birds that are typical from subtropical dry forest lands, like scarlet macaws, trogons, kingfishers, herons and egrets.
In the afternoon go on a horseback riding excursion. Let Pirata, Lucero, Chavalo, Calcetin, Califa and Rosillo lead you through the tropical dry forest around the hacienda. As you trot through virgin forest you’ll spot local inhabitants such as playful monkeys, lazy sloths and exotic tropical birds in their natural habitat. On this guided trek, you’ll emerge out of the forest unto a coastal hill that offers the ultimate overhead view of the entire property and beyond San Juan del Sur. End the tour with a brilliant ride on the hacienda’s secluded beach. Gallop across a mile long stretch of white sand, splashing through the surf for an unforgettable finale to a very special day.

Day 3 San Juan del Sur

Today, choose to have breakfast at the Farm. At Morgan’s Rock, most of what its serve is produced at their Hacienda and you have the unique opportunity to live, love, and learn all about it. Rise early and depart for the farm. Here you will milk cows, gather eggs, visit all the animals, and make fresh corn tortillas. You will prepare and enjoy a hearty traditional breakfast at the farm house before returning to the hotel.
You can also go turtle watching. Take this expedition to La Flor Nature Reserve (30 km South of Morgan´s Rock) when massive numbers of turtle arrive. You will learn about the 5-different species of sea turtles that nest on this beach and their life cycles. With luck, you will be able to see these amazing creatures laying eggs or their hatchlings as they take their first steps towards the open Sea. This experience is seasonal.
